Building upon the Dog Trainer role, once you complete this course you will be a certified Dog Behaviour Technician.

Yes.
This course is designed to follow on from the CTIC course, therefore you need to be an ATI on the ABTC register in order to join this course. -
The course must be completed over 12 months, with a requirement that you pass each module to continue.

This course predominately focuses on dogs, with some discussion of dogs and other animals.
There are specific lecturers covering Cats, Rabbits and Horses. -
The course is delivered across 21 lectures across the 12 month period.

Based on the ABTC Animal Behaviour Technician (ABT) role standard

Alone time: Expert interview with Emma Judson. Emma has a wealth of knowledge around all aspects of dog behaviour and training, with experience spanning over 20 years.

You are required to complete 1 theory exam at the end of the course. This exam is delivered remotely via the TestInvite Platform and is multiple choice. Exams are monitored remotely throughout.

You are required to log and submit a log of learning CPD, including shadowing and practical work. -
All students are required to submit a recording of a One2One session with a client.
These assessments are marked against the ATI Standard Practical Skill requirements and are separately moderated. -

There is no requirement for homework recordings on this course.

Each of the four modules has two assignments. Therefore across the course you are required to submit 8 assignments. Assignments are designed to be practical and useful beyond the course, alongside essay style submissions, there are videos, infographics and blog/social media style submissions.
These alongside your exam are assessed and go towards your final grade.
CBTC PACT assignments and exams are marked by the CBTC Faculty and returned within 4 weeks of submission. To ensure quality of marking, we use strict marking criteria for Level 5 adapted from the marking rubrics written by PACT’s CBTC course leader and the Head of Quality and Moderation. -
You are required to complete 4x theory exams, one after each module. These exams are delivered remotely via the TestInvite Platform under strict exam environment conditions. Exams are monitored remotely throughout.
The pass mark is 80% per exam. -
You are required to log and submit a log of learning CPD, including shadowing and practical work.

Each participant must submit a recording of a client session to display their practical skills. This recording is assessed against the ABTC ABT standard and separately moderated.

Exams are delivered via the TestInvite platform, this is a secure platform designed to ensure the integrity of the assessment.
TestInvite is free to use for students and can be accessed via a browser, it is recommended that Chrome is used. -
Students are encourage to join two Private PACT Facebook groups. One is a group featuring all PACT Students and Members, the second is just for students on the particular cohort.
In addition to this, most cohorts of students create their own WhatsApp support group. -
You will be required to film yourself as part of the assessments, this can be done via a mobile phone.
If you would like to you can use additional equipment, such as Tripods or Microphones, but this isn’t mandatory. -
We encourage students to upload homework video’s onto their cohort’s Facebook group so the feedback can help everyone. However alternatively videos can be uploaded to a private G Drive or send to via Dropbox.
Assessment video’s must be sent via G Drive or Dropbox.
